Summer 2026 marks a very special milestone for Topdental as we celebrate 25 years since our incorporation.
What began in 2001 as a small, family-run business supplying products to dental practices across the United Kingdom has evolved into a globally trusted manufacturer of infection control products for the dental and medical industry.

As we look back on the last quarter of a century, we are incredibly proud of how far we have come, the relationships we have built, and the role we continue to play. Our priority is helping healthcare professionals maintain the highest standards of clinical hygiene with high quality infection control products.
From humble beginnings to industry specialists
When Topdental was founded in 2001, our primary focus was to supply UK based dental practices with a wide range of dental consumables and infection control products. As we worked closely with our customers, we recognised a gap in the market and an increasing need for high-quality, cost effective infection control solutions. This gap was not being satisfied by the established manufacturers and suppliers.
That realisation shaped the future of our business.
Rather than simply distributing products manufactured by others, in 2003/2004 we invested in developing our own product formulations. We built our expertise, and ultimately created our own infection control brand. This decision laid the foundations for what Topdental would become. A specialist manufacturer dedicated to designing and producing innovative hygiene and disinfection products for the healthcare sector.
Building manufacturing excellence
One of the most significant milestones in our journey was bringing product development and manufacturing in-house. This began back in 2005 and we gained the ability to create products specifically tailored to the needs of dental and medical professionals. From formulation development and raw material selection through to production and quality assurance, we control all the stages of the process.
Over the years, our product portfolio has expanded to include surface disinfectants, instrument cleaners and disinfectants, impression disinfection products, suction system cleaners, hand hygiene solutions and many other infection control products used within healthcare environments worldwide.
Our commitment to quality, innovation and regulatory compliance has enabled us to establish ourselves as a trusted manufacturing partner for healthcare brands across the globe.
By 2014 we had complete control of the manufacturing process. Today, we not only manufacture products under our own brands but also provide private label manufacturing services for many respected dental and medical companies internationally.
A brand trusted by professionals
Our Bossklein Complete Hygiene Solutions brand is a full range of infection control products, designed to cover cleaning and disinfection needs within the dental surgery. What began in 2008 as a specialist, low volume and UK only range of infection control products has evolved into a truly global brand, now trusted by clinical professionals across dental and medical environments worldwide.
Over the years, Bossklein has expanded far beyond traditional disinfectants and cleaning solutions, developing a comprehensive portfolio of products designed specifically for regulated healthcare settings.
Bossklein is manufactured in house by the Topdental team and rigorously tested to recognised European standards. The comprehensive range continues to grow while maintaining a strong focus on quality, innovation, and user needs.
Today, Bossklein products are relied upon by clinical teams throughout the United Kingdom and around the globe to help reduce infection risks and support safer patient care.
Becoming global
Topdental was acquired by the LIFCO group in 2015 and became part of the globally reaching Directa Dental Group. Bringing together some of the most experienced dedicated dental and healthcare manufacturer’s from around the world.
The clinical knowledge and shared passion across the Directa Dental Group has developed into a well-known hub for fellow dental professionals seeking expert advice, time saving products and updated clinical techniques. Our regular presence at most global dental conferences with a Directa Dental Group branded booth gives consumers the ultimate confidence they are getting the very best.
A new chapter and a stronger future
As our business has grown, so too have our facilities and capabilities. In 2024, we moved into our largest and most advanced facility to date, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. The new site provides significantly increased production capacity, enhanced formulation blending capabilities, expanded warehousing and dedicated departments covering sales, regulatory affairs, design, marketing and research and development.
This investment reflects our long-term commitment to manufacturing excellence and ensures we are well positioned to support continued growth for both our own brands and our private label manufacturing partners around the world.

There will be no elaborate or lavish celebrations. Just small scale get togethers for the staff members who helped build Topdental into the business it is today and keep pushing it forwards everyday.
